In 2007 Ben Vollers and Fons Heijnsbroek started to paint together: same spot, same moment, same canvas. It has become a very unusual but intensive dialogue in paint between us two. Because we paint in big sizes, we can use our gesture very well. We call them 'Benfo'-paintings (Ben + Fons).

'Lyrical encounter'', benfo-painting 20 2008		The last painting we did together, this first half year of 2008.

'Zauberwald' (the magic wood), benfo-painting 19 2008		no comment by us; just a fairytale in paint. Perhaps a little poem is coming from a Belgium poetess; the painting was fascinating her. For sale.

'Midsummer-song', benfo-painting 18 2008		Time was coming of the midsummernight. We were busy with planning a stay in Sweden next year. We didn't plan the title beforehand, it just came in associations after the painting. For sale.

'A nature's entry', benfo-painting 16 2008		We made this benfo-painting after a visit to the exhibition - in the Cobra-museum in Amstelveen - of the jazz-paintings Karel Appel painted around 1959-1961. We admired and recognized his fresh dynamic in these works and their spatial force. For sale.

'Tomorrow is the question', benfo-painting 14 2008		In making this benfo-painting together, we had a strong inspiration of the expressive paintings Karel Appel made during 1959 till 1962. We saw them together in the Cobra-museum, Amstelveen, 2008. For sale.

'Urbanlights', benfo-painting 11 2007		The city is changing every moment. si is the light by the movements. In Holland we have a long tradition of late impressionism of the growing city, around 1890; we all grow up with painters like Breitner, Isaac Israels and the Dutch pré-expressionistic paintress Suze Robertson. 'Winterflush', benfo-painting 10 2007		This 10th painting we painted together is painted most of all in simple and strong forms, with concentration on atmosphere. The last one we did in 2007. For sale.

'Royal Garden', benfo-painting 9 2007		In all paintings we did together this one is painted in very light atmosphere. Ben and I both are strongly influenced by Dutch old painting-tradition with its fascination for atmosphere ans space. For sale.

'On the Kings', benfo-painting 8 2007		We love both very much the abstract-expressionistic period in the United States. Our way of painting is unthinkable without this time. So, this painting is dedicated to Willem de Kooning and his collegues/friends. For sale.

'Bearable lightness', benfo-painting 7 2007		Also in this painting we were very concerned on the light and the transparancy in the painting as a whole. And we associated its atmosphere with the name of the famous Czech novel: Unbearable lightness. For sale.
